Having sex while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs can have a variety of effects that you have not planned for, from catching a STD (Sexually Transmitted Disease) or contracting a BBV (Blood Bourne Virus) to unplanned pregnancy.
We have found that people are having sex while using drugs, ‘Chemsex’. Drugs can make people feel more confident and more open to having sex, with people they know or strangers. People can and do suffer memory loss after having sex or just want to forget it happened!
If you are having sex, please try and remember to wear a condom, make your decisions when sober, be in the right ‘headspace’ and know your limits. If you are with friends look after them, friends look after each other. Remember you can’t change what is done after the event. Importantly never feel pressured to have sex just for the sake of it
